Press the microphone and speak in Nepali — your words are written in Nepali Unicode as you talk — or type in English letters and pick the Nepali spelling. Copy them for Facebook, WhatsApp or Word, get them in Preeti, download a Word file, or hear them in a Nepali voice and save an MP3.

Allow the microphone when your browser asks. The page starts in नेपाली; switch to English above the box if you want to speak English.
Talk at a normal pace. Your words appear in Nepali Unicode (Devanagari) as you speak, sentence after sentence, until you press stop.
Copy the text as Unicode for Facebook, WhatsApp, Gmail or Word, copy it as Preeti for older documents, download it as a Word or text file, see it set in every Nepali font, or hear it read in a Nepali voice and download it as an MP3.
Write Facebook, Instagram and TikTok captions in Nepali without a Nepali keyboard.
Dictate long WhatsApp, Viber or Gmail messages in Devanagari and paste them in.
Speak letters, notices and reports, then download them as a Word document.
Turn what you wrote into an MP3 in a Nepali voice to listen back, or for videos and announcements.
Draft essays, stories and notes in Nepali faster than typing them.
Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, no limit on how much you dictate and no app to install.
Open this page, press the blue microphone, allow microphone access and speak in Nepali. The words are written in Nepali Unicode as you talk. Press the microphone again to stop.
Google Chrome on Android, Windows, Mac and Linux works best. Microsoft Edge and Safari have speech recognition too, though how well they understand Nepali varies. Firefox has none yet, so the page says so there instead of showing the microphone.
Yes. On an Android phone use Chrome; on an iPhone use Safari or Chrome. The page is made for phones, with the big microphone right under the text.
Yes. With the नेपाली tab selected and some text in the box, press “Listen in Nepali” to hear it, or “Download MP3” to save it. Choose a female or male voice and a slow, normal or fast pace. Each reading takes up to 1000 characters, so read a long text in parts. This is a Nepali voice reading your text aloud, not a recording of your own voice.
We don't record or keep your voice. Your browser's own speech service turns it into text (in Chrome that is Google's), and the text stays in your browser on this device until you clear it. The one time text leaves your browser is when you press Listen or Download MP3: that text is sent to our Nepali speech service to make the audio.
Yes. Use Copy → Copy as Preeti to paste it into documents set in Preeti, or download a Word file. For Facebook, messages and the web, copy it as Unicode.
Yes. Open “Show fonts” under the box to see what you said set in every Nepali Unicode font, and in the Preeti fonts if they are installed. Search by name or style, change the size, and copy the text as it needs to be for each font.
Yes. With the नेपाली tab selected, type a word in English letters, such as namaste, and the Nepali spellings are offered under it. Press Space for the first one, or 1 to 5 to choose another. Press Esc to keep the English letters.
Yes. Switch the language to English above the box and the same microphone writes English instead.
Usually yes — most browsers send the sound to their speech service to recognise it, so voice typing stops when you are offline.
